East Lake Park

European style castle and fresh lawn all in this huge park!

Parks can be about more than picnics! In Shenzhen East Lake Park, for example, you can get close to nature. And there are zoo, several popular photo spots and also many free activities. You can have a full day of fun here!
East Lake Park is one of the earliest parks in Shenzhen. It is a first-class urban park with a total area of 233.3 hectares. The park features a large lawn, and an oversized artificial lake for boating. The park is divided into 12 scenic areas, such as the Rhododendron Sculpture Garden, the only all-azalea garden in Shenzhen. In addition to the scenic spots, there are also a number of cultural and recreational facilities, including a calligraphy & painting gallery, tennis courts, zoo and fishing area.
A popular photo hotspot in the park would be the white castle at the entrance to the zoo. With the pure whiteness and the European style, it is literally like a castle straight out of the fairy tale! Walking along the castle, you will come to the Fun Animal Garden. There you can see peacocks spreading their feathers and other animals.
Besides, there is a large emerald lawn within the reservoir area. That, together with the infinite blue sky, makes it a nice place for some fresh and cool portrait ideas.
In November and December every year, the park holds a flower show exhibiting various kinds of chrysanthemums, including those in bonsai and flower arrangements.
Best of all, for a park with so many scenic spots, the admission is free! What a perfect place for a full day of fun on holidays!
